Knowledge mapping of research on strategic mineral resource security: A visual analysis using CiteSpace

The global demand for strategic mineral resources has surged because of technological developments, with the associated resource security (SMRS) issues attracting significant research attention, especially in China. To fully understand this direction, 3722 studies were extracted from Web Science (WoS) and China's National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). knowledge was mapped bibliographic records using CiteSpace to analyze SMRS status, development course systematically, potential trends, which it found that: (1) 1990 2015, CNKI more prevalent than WoS, after international interest increased; (2) discipline categories WoS have different but complementary emphases; (3) formed a multipoint cooperative network, whereas results diamond-type network; (4) hotspots interrelated. Future on should focus assessing availability resources, sustainable supply perspective entire industry chain, construction trading network based new trade patterns.
